Review summary
Auckland Skin & Cancer Foundation receives mixed feedback reflecting both positive clinical experiences and significant concerns about administrative and procedural practices. Reviewers praised friendly staff, cleanliness, and diagnostic approach in some cases, while others reported billing-focused intake processes, incomplete lesion removal requiring additional procedures, and communication difficulties between practitioners regarding follow-up care. A patient who consulted for a 3mm facial lesion removal described disagreement over procedure scope, resulting in partial excision and scarring; subsequent referral to another clinician at the practice was reportedly declined. The clinic's reputation appears heavily influenced by individual practitioner interactions and administrative processes, with patient experiences varying considerably.

All I can say is they were far more interested in my insurance and ability to pay their fees and NEVER one word or question about me or my condition! Absolutely unacceptable so I cancelled my initial appt. I will give this poorly run service a miss! (ASCF - the name here is my social media handle and not my real name - so please don’t try your norm response found below of claiming you do not have a patient by this name! Improve your poor service is my advice for you!)
Unacceptable experience and poor medical practice. I consulted Dr. Bob Chan for removal and biopsy of a small 3mm facial lesion, with clear agreement that the entire lesion would be excised. Instead, only half was removed, leaving a scar on my face, and now I’m being asked to return for a second procedure, doubling the cost and likely leaving a second scar. This approach shows disregard for patient welfare and informed consent. When my GP referred me to Dr. Todd Gunson due to this mishandling, he refused, claiming it was not his concern as a private practitioner. Such indifference is both unethical and deeply disappointing.
I have met with Dr Oliver twice for a serious psoriasis flareup and was blown away with his amazing ability to diagnose and deduce likely underlying conditions causing this. I think we've nailed it in two visits and back to my GP for ongoing care. He made sure he didn't need me to keep coming back to pay specialist fees :)
I have had an incredible experience with Dr Marc Lawrence, from my initial appointment, surgical procedures and follow up appointments. Dr Lawrence’s expertise and attention to detail have proven amazing results with my very difficult case. Dr Lawrence’s bedside manner is impeccable, kind, gentle, understanding and compassionate. Elisha and Vanessa, his nursing team have shown nothing but exceptional care. Their warm and calm demeanour was always present during my surgeries, this helped immensely. Nothing has ever been too much for Shannon, from booking my appointments, to getting answers for my many questions. This never went unnoticed, so thank you. I would not hesitate recommending Dr Marc Lawrence; he and his team are simply OUTSTANDING.
I'm concerned about the effectiveness of the mole removal treatment I received from Dr. Chin Yun Lin. After several appointments spaced 5-6 months apart, the mole persists. Although Dr. Lin applies dry ice for a short duration, I haven't seen the desired outcome. The cost associated with each appointment seems high, considering the brevity of the treatment. I'd appreciate discussing alternative options or a revised treatment plan with Dr. Lin, as I haven't experienced the expected results.
